When you click on the map your drive-time distances and starting location are sent to ArcGIS Server and used by the ArcGIS Geoprocessing Model hosted by ESRI.

You can explore demographics by clicking on one of the service area rings. The service area is sent to ArcGIS Server which performs a spatial analysis on the Census Block Group demographics within the service area.

Site Selection

GIS helps you solve common business problems. For example, when locating a new business, site selection and trade area analysis are crucial for analyzing potential locations. This demonstration uses ESRI's ArcGIS API for JavaScript and ArcGIS Server to deliver a lightweight, focused GIS application on the Web.

To use this application

  1. In Analysis Tools, choose a drive-time measurement for your analysis.
  2. Click the Locate button and then click on the map.
  3. Once the drive-time rings are generated, click in one of the rings to perform a demographic analysis.

ArcGIS API for JavaScript

You can use the ArcGIS API for JavaScript to rapidly develop Web mapping applications using only HTML and JavaScript. No download is required and GIS analysis takes place on the server. You can quickly mash up GIS-based Web services from ArcGIS Server with Web content of your own or from other GIS servers.

Additional Demos

For another interactive example of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript, see the Parcel Owner Notification List application.
